Hospitals with surplus equipment
Have equipment you no longer use? We find an institution that needs it, check it and handle the transfer.
Offer equipmentStichting MedEquity
We connect hospitals that have surplus medical equipment with healthcare institutions that lack it. Every transfer starts with a validated request, and comes with testing, logistics and training.
The problem
Donations usually start with what a hospital has to spare, not with what another hospital needs. The equipment arrives, and then it isn’t needed, breaks down, or no one has been trained to run it.
Sources: estimates cited in Compton et al. (2018) and McDonald et al. (2019); Perry & Malkin (2011), inventories of 112,040 devices in 16 countries.
Our approach
Equipment only moves once a recipient institution has asked for it and the need has been confirmed. Then we take care of everything that makes it work in practice.
A healthcare institution tells us what it needs. Our partners on the ground validate the request before anything else happens.
We find a hospital or supplier with that equipment to spare, and agree the terms of the transfer.
Every item is assessed, tested and, where needed, refurbished, so only working equipment is sent.
We coordinate transport, export documents and customs clearance, all the way to the receiving institution.
Local staff learn to use and maintain the equipment, and we stay involved to solve problems afterwards.
Win, win, win
Receive the equipment they actually asked for, in working order, with the training to keep it running.
Give surplus equipment a second life through a documented, responsible channel that supports their sustainability goals.
Fewer “equipment graveyards”, and more working devices where care is hardest to reach.
